Hi, my name is ________________________________.
I have been a member of the community for 2 years now. I am ____ years old and an active member of Fairfax Presbyterian’s G.R.A.C.E. youth group. I am really worried about how severe the hunger epidemic is around the world. Did you know that every minute over 20 children die from hunger? It is true. It adds up to over 29,000 children every day. So over a one-week period of time the same number of people that died in the tsunami, dies from hunger. Does it really take us a natural disaster to have to donate money when this is happening every week of every year?
I would like to make a difference. My youth group is participating in World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine on April 11-13. For 30 hours, my friends and I will go without food to raise money to help feed starving children. Think, for only $30 one child could have food and care for one month, compared to 2 movie tickets, popcorn, and a soda. So for every time we go see a movie, one child could have lived one month longer. For $90 we can buy a pair of new shoes or designer clothing as opposed to 3 months of food and care for a child. A $360 IPod and accessories could buy a child one more year of life with a full stomach and health care.
I am trying to personally raise _______ to feed ___ for ____. Will you please help me reach my goal by sponsoring me? Even for $1, you could still help one child live for one more day. That means one more time they can say to their parents, “I love you.” My address is _____________. Please either mail your donation or call me and I would be glad to come pick it up. Your donation is tax deductible! I will be happy to provide a receipt. Please help sponsor me and save a child’s life. We prefer you make a check payable to World Vision, or, or necessary, cash is acceptable. Please turn in your donation as soon as possible with your name attached so I can keep you updated.
If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.
