Prayers
and Thoughts for Reflection
There
are hands that help and comfort,
Whether
you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice
behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it." To
the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be
the world. Remember
upon the conduct of each, depends the fate of all. No
man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent. Gracious God, touch me with your quiet voice of calm and grace. Live in me and energize me that I may not only touch life, but be touched by it. You know the secret plan for the world using me and my hands, help me to listen. Open my heart so that Your love can be extended through me to others. Give me faith to tackle the impossible. Renew my Spirit, so I will use my time wisely and accomplish all that you have planned for me to do. Amen There
is no such thing as a self-made man. You will reach your goals only
with the help of others. The
strength of the team is each individual member. . .the strength of
each member is the team. The
Lord will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught. Contrary
to popular belief, there most certainly is an “I” in “team.”
It is the same “I” that appears three times in “responsibility.” Sure
there’s no “I” in ‘team,” but there
is a “me”! The
ratio of ‘We’s’ to ‘I’s’ is the
best indicator of the development of a team. Respect
your fellow human being, treat them fairly, disagree with them honestly,
enjoy their friendship, explore your thoughts about one another candidly,
work together for a common goal and help one another achieve it. Let
love and faithfulness never leave you . . . write them on the tablet
of your heart. When
a team outgrows individual performance and learns team confidence,
excellence becomes a reality. It
is not a question of how well each process works, the question is
how well they all work together. If
you can laugh together, you can work together. Dear Lord, remind me each day that you are at work within me and around me. Help me not to be concerned about who does your work, but rather that your work gets done. Show me what is most important and take me where I am needed most. Amen Team
means Together Everyone Achieves More. Many
hands make light work. Coming
together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together
is success. God
is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have
shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. Teams
share the burden and divide the grief. To
say my fate is not tied to your fate is like saying, “Your end
of the boat is sinking.” A
group becomes a team when each member is sure enough of himself and
his contribution to praise the skills of the others. Three
things I’d say to a team to help hold them together "I
will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar
paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before
them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will
do; I will not forsake them," says the Lord. Father,
please work Your will in my life so that others will see You as the
Workman. Amen It
is amazing how much you can accomplish when it doesn’t matter
who gets the credit. Getting
good players is easy. Getting them to play together is the hard part. The
way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the
greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don’t
play together, the club won’t be worth a dime. Lazy
hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth. No
member of a crew is praised for the rugged individuality of his rowing. Teamwork
divides the task and multiples the success. If
everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself. The
plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty. Teamwork
is the ability to work together toward a common vision; the ability
to direct individual accomplishment toward organizational objectives.
It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results. It
is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. Dear Lord, Before I awaken this morning you are with me. As I open my eyes, I thank you for the gift of this new day. May I take this certainty of your presence with me into all this day can hold – help me not to waste the day, but to learn from all that it brings. Open my eyes to see your divine touch in all things. When I am frightened, give me strength. I bundle my fears of what this day may bring, and place them in your hands. Be with me now as I arise. Open my heart to love, to trust, to hope, to share, to give, and to the call of the needs of others. Give me an awareness that is constantly opening all of my senses to search for the hidden joys, the tiny discoveries of your gift of life. Come unto me now and shepherd me through this day. Help me to do all things for you. Amen. The
nice thing about teamwork is that you always have others on your side. Individual
commitment to a group effort – that is what makes a team work
a company work, a society work, a civilization work. As
for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is
a shield to all who trust in Him. None
of us is as smart as all of us. He
who walks with the wise grows wise. Teamwork
doesn’t tolerate the inconvenience of distance. Regardless
of differences, we strive shoulder to shoulder. . .teamwork can be
summed up in five short words: “We believe in each other.” Give
your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not
permit the Godly to slip and fall. Teamwork
is the ability to work as a group toward a common vision, even if
that vision becomes extremely blurry Cooperation
is the thorough conviction that nobody can get there unless everybody
gets there. Build
for your team a feeling of oneness, of dependence on one another and
of strength to be derived by unity. Today is a new day Lord, show me the way to walk it. Help me to walk step by step with you. Guide me, inspire me in the way I should go. Thank you for all the opportunities that will come my way. Help me to give love so generously that it becomes a part of who I am and a reflection of who I serve. Amen. I
appeal to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you
agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you
and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought. The
secret is to work less as individuals and more as a team. As a coach,
I play not my eleven best, but my best eleven. Teamplayer:
One who unites others toward a shared destiny through sharing information
and ideas, empowering others and developing trust. A
successful team beats with one heart. The
LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched
land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered
garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. No
one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it. Help me to take stock of your gifts to me, Lord. Remind me that it’s not what I do, but my doing that ultimately matters. Help me to slow down, to be silent, so I can hear you and do your will, not mine – to let you guide, instead of trying to control. In your hands, each day will bring its own gifts. I know that the best is yet to be. Amen. A
snowflake is one of God’s most fragile creations, but look what
they can do when they stick together. Two
are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:
if one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the [one]
who falls and has no one to help him up! . . . Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly
broken. In
union there is strength. The
Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear
heavy, that it cannot hear. If
you want to build a ship, don’t drum up people together to collect
wood and don’t assign them tasks and work, but rather teach
them to long for the endless immensity of the sea. One
piece of log creates a small fire, adequate to warm you up, add just
a few more pieces to blast an immense bonfire, large enough to warm
up your entire circle of friends; needless to say that individuality
counts, but team work dynamites. Bear
with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against
one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. A
chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Sticks
in a bundle are unbreakable. If
any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to
all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. Thank you, Lord, for the blessings of this day and for remaining at the center of it. I know that you have work for me to do. May I always see your grace above and beyond any challenge – always remembering that the darkest clouds have brilliant silver linings and that the glass is not half-empty, but almost full! Thank you for the challenge of each and every day. Each day, I discover new gifts you offer me, and the list of reasons to be thankful grows. Stir me into vision and action and to recognize when to wait and to understand when to move. Help me to recognize your presence in this nudge to movement. Assist me to be a good team player not worrying about the yesterdays or the tomorrows. Help me to see what I can accomplish, if I only put my trust in you. May I never forget that a gathering of two is really a fellowship of three as you are always there with us. Amen. I
am a member of a team, and I rely on the team, I defer to it and sacrifice
for it, because the team, not the individual, is the ultimate champion. We
don’t accomplish anything in this world alone . . . and whatever
happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one’s life and
all the weavings of individual threads from one to another that creates
something. Individually,
we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean. Lord,
hold our troops in your loving hands. You
go no where by accident.
