Prayers and Thoughts

for Reflection

Lenton Devotional

2008

March 10

If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself but to your own estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.

Marcus Aurelius.

The Hidden Power of the Heart realize that now, in this moment of time, you are creating. You are creating your next moment. That is what's real.

Sara Paddison.

Never part without loving words to think of during your absence. It may be that you will not meet again in life.

John Paul Richter

Sweat plus sacrifice equals success.

Charles O. Finley

I try to learn from the past, but I plan for the future by focusing exclusively on the present. That's were the fun is.

Donald Trump.

There are fine things which you mean to do some day, under what you think will be more favorable circumstances. But the only time that is surely yours is the present, hence this is the time to speak the word of appreciation and sympathy, to do the generous deed, to forgive the fault of a thoughtless friend, to sacrifice self a little more for others. Today is the day in which to express your noblest qualities of mind and heart, to do at least one worthy thing which you have long postponed, and to use your God-given abilities for the enrichment of someone less fortunate. Today you can make your life - significant and worthwhile. The present is yours to do with as you will.

Grenville Kleiser.

Jesus said to them:  "Truly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible to you."

Matthew 17:20

Dear Lord, Thank you for the promise of Your word. Thank you for today. Thank you for the opportunities I will find. I know each day that you are at work within me and around me. When I feel overwhelmed, remind me that you have given me special gifts. Let me not forget that You are greater than my problems and that from You will come the strength I need. Open my eyes to see your divine touch in all things. Help me to follow your direction and to greet those you have sent. Help me to realize when someone needs me. Give me eyes to see and hands to work for you. Enter my heart and lead me in the way of loving kindness. May I never waste a moment to make today special or dream about what I can accomplish tomorrow with your help. Amen.
