It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
None of us has gotten where we are solely by pulling ourselves up from our own bootstraps. We got here because somebody bent down and helped us.
Thurgood Marshall
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you’ll find one at the end of your arm. . .As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands: One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.
Audrey Hepburn
Look up and not down. Look forward and not back. Look out and not in, and lend a hand.
Edward Everett Hale
Be sure to use the abilities God has given you. . . . Put these abilities to work.
I Timothy 2:15
Dear Lord, Thank you for the promise of Your word. I do not often hear the silent cries for help of those around me. If I can’t see or hear where to help, show me. If I don’t know how to help, help me find a way. If I am afraid to help, give me courage. If I am to busy to help, make me less busy and more in tune. If I am too tired to help, inspire me. If I feel overwhelmed, help me to make the right decisions and say the right words. Show me what is most important and take me where I am needed most. Lead me onto paths toward those who need my help. Help me to share from my heart. Amen.
