Lenton Devotional

2008

February 14

It is not what he has, nor even what he does, which directly expresses the worth of a man, but what he is.

Henri Frederic Amiel

Shoes divide men into three classes.  Some men wear their father’s shoes.  They make no decisions of their own.  Some are unthinkingly shod by the crowd.  The strong man is his own cobbler.  He insists on making his own choices.  He walks in his own shoes.

S. D. Gordon

Character is what you are in the dark.

Dwight L. Moody

Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust.

Psalms 40:4

Dear Lord, Thank you for the promise of Your word.  Fill me with Your boundless love. Open my eyes so that I may see where my help is needed. Help me to take advantage of each opportunity I have to offer someone a helping hand, a kind word, a listening ear, a pat on the back, hope. Guide me in reaching out to others. May I always be a channel of Your love. Amen.
