Man is born broken. He lives by mending. The grace of God is glue!
Eugene O'Neill
Trust the Lord your God with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5 - 6
All problems become smaller if you don't dodge them, but confront them.
Touch a thistle timidly, and it pricks you; grasp it boldly, and its spines crumble.
William S. Halsey
What life means to us is determined not so much by what life brings to us as by the attitute we bring to life; not so much by what happens to us as by our reaction to what happens.
Lewis L. Dunnington
Most of us can afford to take a lesson from the oyster. The most extraordinary thing about the oyster is this. Irritations get into his shell. He does not like them; he tries to get rid of them. But when he cannot get rid of them he settles down to make of them one of the most beautiful things in the world. He uses the irritation to do the loveliest thing that an oyster ever has a chance to do. If there are irritations in our lives today, there is only one prescription: make a pearl. It may have to be a pearl of patience, but anyhow, make a pearl. and it takes faith and love to do it.
Harry Emerson Fosdick
Words. Do you fully understand their power? Can any of us really grasp the mighty force behind the things we say? Do we stop and think before we speak, considering the potency of the words we utter?
Joni Eareckson Tada
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
Matthew 7:12
...let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds.
Hebrews 10:24
Heavenly Father, This is the day You have given me, let me use it according to Your master plan. Enable me to live each moment to the fullest, totally involved in Your will. Give me the ears to hear and the eyes to see your presence in my life. Today, help me to make pearls - let me express my gratitude not just through my words, but also through my deeds. Teach me how to use my gifts, no matter how small, for your service. Amen.
