Hunger Program
at Fairfax Presbyterian Church
Our
hunger program ministers to the needy in our area, working with
local groups in northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. We donate
food, operate a food pantry, and stock local food distribution centers.
Twice
a month, we participate in the hot meals distribution program of
FACETS. We prepare hot meals in our Church
kitchen and serve them by mobile canteen to homeless families nearby.
Last year, we cooked and delivered more than 3,300 hot meals to
homeless, hungry people.
We
delivered 80 bags of groceries to 36 needy families as a participant
of Our Daily Bread. We also gave 40 bags
of groceries and 36 bags of diapers to the FISH pantry in our Church.
All the food and diapers were collected during our two food drives
from church members and friends.
