FACETS
(Fairfax Area Christian Emergency and
Transition Services)
FACETS
is an ecumenical organization with more than 27 participating churches
in Northern Virginia. FACETS purpose is to provide direct food and
transitional support services to the homeless population on site,
at motels and at shelters. The FACETS Hot Meals program provides
evening meals to the homeless using the Salvation Army Mobile Canteen.
On
the first and third Mondays of each month, Fairfax Presbyterian
Church volunteers prepare hot meals from a FACETS-provided menu,
which are delivered to the Salvation Army canteen. FPC volunteers
also help in serving the meals. In 1998, FPC participated in delivering
more than 3,300 hot meals in the Fairfax City area.
Dear Fairfax Presbyterian Church and Congregation,
On behalf of FACETS and the children of our program, we want to send a deep and heart-felt Thank You!
The children have received their backpacks filled with school supplies which you donated. And you should have seen their faces: they were filled with happiness! This couldn’t have happened without you. So, thank you again. What you have done is truly a miracle!
Sincerely,
Melissa Cappiello, Volunteer Manager
