Becoming a Member of FPC
VISITORS are invited to a New Members Seminar on Sunday, April 6 from 12:30 to 3 p.m. in room 110. Lunch will be served! Led by the pastors and elders of FPC, this is an opportunity to learn what it means to be a Presbyterian, to hear about the ministry and mission of FPC and to reflect on God’s involvement in your life. At the end of the seminar, you are welcome to join the church. Please RSVP to 703 273-5300 by Wednesday, April 2 to let us know if you will need childcare.
You can become a member of Fairfax Presbyterian Church in one of four ways:
- Profession of faith
If you have not previously been a member of a church, you may profess your faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, be baptized (if not previously baptized), and received into membership.
- Letter of transfer
If you are on the active or inactive roll in another church, you may request a transfer. The church will secure your certificate of transfer.
- Reaffirmation of faith
If you have been a member of a church before, but have been inactive or removed from the roll, you may join by reaffirmation of faith.
- Affiliate membership
If you want to keep your membership in another church while you temporarily reside in this area, you may become an affiliate member. This entitles you to all the rights and privileges of membership except voting in congregational meetings and election to church office. Affiliate membership is renewable annually and is especially appropriate for military personnel on a short tour or for college students.
