Fairfax Presbyterian Preschool believes that each day of a child's life should be viewed as leading toward the growth and development of a healthy and contributing member of society. To accomplish this, our program provides rich and varied learning opportunities which contribute to a child's social, emotional, physical, creative, intellectual, and spiritual growth.

Fairfax Presbyterian Preschool is a developmental program based on the understanding that a child learns naturally through play. We believe that play is the most developmentally appropriate means for young children's learning.

As an extension of the Christian education program of Fairfax Presbyterian Church, our goal is to help each child develop an awareness of God's presence in his world by being with people expressing kindness, acceptance, and love. A child will learn about God's love through the actions of peoplearound him and through his experiences with those people.

Fairfax Presbyterian Preschool strongly encourages parents to be involved with their child's early education by participating as a assistant in their child's classroom on a regular basis. Scheduling of classroom participation and training for parents is provided by the Preschool staff at the beginning of the school year.

Our Preschool is located in the sun-splashed classrooms of the church building. We have a large, shaded playground, an indoor recreation room, Kidersizeroom, and kitchen. We offer curb service drop off and many parents contact one another to form car pools. We serve 116 children from 2.9 to 5 years old in 2, 3, 4, and 5 mornings-per-week programs. The classroom hours are from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. with extended day offered till 1:15 p.m. on Thursdays.

Fairfax Presbyterian Preschool is staffed by warm, loving teachers whose educational background and experience is in elementary and early childhood education. Teachers hold undergraduate and some graduate degrees in this field.
